About me

Hello and welcome! My name is Mohamed and I have recently developed (no pun intended) a passion for developing things. I decided to transition into Tech because developers appeared to have a sense of empowerment driven by their ability to code. And I want to be empowered.

After a rocky road of trying to teach myself how to code, I enrolled to the School of Code being selected out of 1800+ candidates. Fast forward to today, and I have worked in agile teams, taken part in pair/team programming and applied computational thinking to code.

My main focus currently is to find a suitable role for me, where I can grow and develop my skills. My secondary focus is doing what I can to help tech be more accessible, particularly to those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. I'm doing this by releasing videos on my YouTube channel and by blogging my journey.

A modern solution to an age-old problem. Book Worms allows teachers to be able to digitally monitor students' reading habits. Teachers can view class and (specific) student data Students can add data on how much they've read and also leave a comment on their most recent reading.

The Dashboard allows bootcampers to quickly find any previous resources shared and it even has a 'Study Buddy' section where bootcampers can inform others of what they're studying, when and how to study with them to promote pair programming!

My first personal project, and what better way to start my coding journey than with a childhood favourite? Two weeks into the Bootcamp, we were introduced to the Pokémon API and the rest was history. I wanted to refactor the code (it's not even responsive) but I decided not to change the code to remind myself where I started.
